At a time when everything is digital and social networking is the norm; at a time when people no longer commission a painted portrait -- it is important to consider the relevance of the genre. The artist offers to his models, as to himself, their best profile, all the while playing a game of self-mockery: a veritable step back
to an art form which has become obsolete. This way, with their accessories, the protagonists are freed from the social codes to which they are automatically subjected on a daily basis.
